Preventing Bacteria in Ice Machines

A common issue that comes up in restaurants is the build up of pink slime, black ice and bio-film in commercial ice machines. This is a common problem for ice machines since it is an open system and cannot reduce or eliminate bacterial growth.

The bio-film is important to clean up because it can emit an odor and more importantly poses a health hazard to people. But having an ice machine professionally cleaned can be very expensive.
