Greasy Rooftop Protection

25th Apr 2016

Restaurant rooftops are stained with grease and oil emitted by kitchen exhaust fans. These fans can end in unnecessary leaks, unsafe work areas, expensive roof repairs and even fire.

A bucket or some kind of dish is often used on a roof as a way to catch the fats, oils and grease, F.O.G.s, coming from the fan. But the problem here is all the F.O.G.s that are coming from your exhaust fan sit on top of water. So when there is any kind of precipitation the F.O.G.s spill out of the bucket onto your roof.

So instead of a bucket use a grease gutter! The grease gutter has an absorbent pad to help soak up the grease from your exhaust fan. Switch out the absorbent pad in the grease gutter whenever you have your hood vents cleaned as another way to prevent damage to your roof.
